What can Peak Adventures help arrange other than accommodation?
Where is Vaujany?
In the Isere Valley, Romanche, high in the French Alps. The area is also known as the Oisans. Vaujany is just across the valley from Alpe d’Huez and 70 minute transfer from Grenoble
What else is there to do?
Vaujany has stunning forest for walks. There is also cycling, mountain biking, paragliding, bowling, ice skating not to mention relaxing in the Leisure centres and spa facilities. Please see our 'Adventures' section and our 'Other Activities' page
Where is the closest airport?
Grenoble is the closest airport to the Southern side of the French Alps but with very few flights in the summer. We suggest looking at arriving into Lyon.
How do I get to Vaujany?
Try the 'Getting There page.' Follow the signs for Lyon and then Grenoble…Take the A480 from Grenoble and exit the road at junction 8 ‘Vizille – stations de l’Oisans’’ then take the main road RN91 to Bourg d’Oisans. At Rochetaille take the left onto the D527 towards Allemont and Vaujany. We will give more detailed travel directions in your holiday pack.
What are your changeover days?
Peak Adventures changeover days are on Saturday for Chalet Saskia and Sunday for the other properties, but we can be flexible.
Do I need to bring child seats for airport transfers?
You are welcome to bring your own child seat(s). However, for your convenience we have a selection of car seats for babies and toddlers. (Note that France does not have the same child seat laws as the UK). So simply inform us at the time you make your booking and we will have the right seat fitted in your vehicle when we collect you from the airport.
How do I pay, and when?
We accept debit/credit cards, cheques or direct bank transfers. Your booking is secured by a 30% deposit of accommodation costs. Your holiday balance is payable 8 weeks prior to departure.
Should I get insurance?
Yes Definitely. We strongly recommend to all our guests that they have comprehensive winter sports travel insurance. This is also a requirement of our booking terms and conditions. The cover given on most credit cards is usually not good enough.
We will always try to work around your schedule. As a small specialist tour operator exclusively providing luxury holidays to Vaujany, we have the flexibility often missing from larger companies.
Be it to organise a quick second break, a weekend get-away for a large group or perhaps a corporate weekend, we can tailor make a break that meets all your requirements.
We've partnered with The Chalet Chef to make hosting memorable evening an absolute breeze. Their chefs will take care of everything for you from start to finish.
Cycling in the French Alps and Oisans area is a wonderful experience. Riding out of Vaujany every morning whether to train or compete, is like riding through the annals of cycling history.
There's nothing quite like a good pair of shoes, and bicycles work in a similar way; a good well-adjusted bike to suit your body type and riding ability will make you ride more comfortably, last longer and roll faster.
We offer Vaujany chalets which are of the highest standard. All of our chalets ooze character yet feel like home away from home. Our staff will take care of you from the moment they meet you.
